COMMON WRITTEN EXAMINATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF PROBATIONARY OFFICERS MAIN EXAM MOCK TEST Exam Details

 

A Common Written Examination (CWE) (Preliminary and Main) will be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in the 20 Public Sector Banks .

It has been decided by the competent authority to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MT from CWE-VII onwards. All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT-VII will be called for Preliminary Examinations. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, certain number of candidates will be shortlisted for each of these examinations. The short listed candidates will then be called for Main Examinations. There will be fewer number of questions in the Preliminary Examination with shorter duration. The details with regard to both the Preliminary and Main examinations will be made available on IBPS website through the detailed notifications in due course. The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list and the marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for interview.

An individual who aspires to join any of the above Public Sector Banks as a Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee will necessarily be required to take the CWE. Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS and should carefully read the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards.

Candidates who appear for the CWE will be able to check their status after the examination. Scorecards will be issued to candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks and above in each test of the examination.

Each participating Public Sector Bank will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each component test plus Total Weighted Score (if any) etc.

Successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet thestipulated eligibility criteria are then required to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to, quoting their personal details and their CWE scores. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own selection processes such as Group Discussions and/ or Interviews etc. for final selection.




Eligibility Criteria (as on 01.08.2017)

Candidates, intending to apply for CWE PO/MT-VII should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS .
I. Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
II. Age (As on 01.08.2017):
Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1987 and not later than 01.08.1997 (both dates inclusive)

III. Educational Qualifications (As on 05.09.2017):

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Application Fee (Payable from 16.08.2017 to 05.09.2017 (Online payment)  both dates inclusive):

(a) For SC/ST/PWD candidates   -  Rs.   100.00

(b ) For all others (including OBC)    -  Rs. 600.00

Transaction charges for NEFT/ Online Payment will have to be borne by the candidate

Mode of Payment :

Candidates have the option of making the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges through the ONLINE mode only.

The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.

(i) The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen.
(ii) After Final Submit, an additional page of the application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in the requisite details.
(iii) If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then candidates are advised to login again with their provisional registration number and password and pay the Application Fees/ Intimation Charges online.
(iv) On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
(v) Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form. Please note that if the same cannot be generated online transaction may not have been successful.
